Flash or No Flash for your Site - Pro's and Con's
Flash has been around for over a decade and has been used to create everything from animated websites, to applications, to audio and video streaming platforms (like YouTube). In the last 5 years, there has been a web design movement away from using Flash, especially when used to create an entire site. Apple's stance on Flash and not including compatibility with its mobile hardware (iPhone, iPod, and iPad) has furthered this movement. In its place, CSS3 and HTML5 are being used.
Free Multiple Monitor Taskbar - MultiMon Taskbar
This is a quick post to recommend MultiMonitor Taskbar: a great, free Windows app for dual or multiple monitor setups. It comes in three versions: one free and two paid, but the free version is fairly feature-rich. It provides additional taskbars so any window open on your seconday screen is displayed there and not on the windows taskbar. This is a great way to manage windows accurately.
How I Edit CSS Live using Chrome and Transmit
Since posting an article about using firebug and web developer tools to edit CSS live, it's been the most popular post on this site. Since then i've changed how I work a bit using Google Chrome's built-in inspector and the Mac FTP app Transmit.
One week after site redesign - lessons learned
It's been roughly a week since I launched the LemonLime Designs 2011 redesign. I've launched over 20 sites over the years and each time I learn something new. This time it all has to do with Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
LemonLime Designs 2011 has launched!
It's 3 days late but LemonLime Designs 2011 has launched! In January, I designed the new logo and built a concept around it. Around the same time, Drupal 7 was released. Since then, I've been working behind the scenes (neglecting my old site unfortunately) to build a new site based on D7. The interface is different but is extremely powerful and customizable. I'm often torn between using Wordpress and Drupal, but I end up using Drupal because of the platforms ability to be whatever you want it to be.
Gmail Addes Rich Text Signatures, Hacks no Longer Needed!
Great news everyone: you no longer need any hacks (as seen here) to have rich text, or stylized, signatures in Gmail. When you go to the Settings page, the signature option now includes a formatting toolbar.
From the BGR Report.
You can still create a CSS styled signature and then copy and paste it in the text box to acheive more custom results:

Adobe CS5 Trial Release Date
The interwebs are a buzz about Adobe CS5. I'm really looking forward to the advancements in Photoshop (specifically Content Aware Filling AKA sorcery) and Dreamweaver's ability to work on CMS templates. It may bring me back to using Dreamweaver, but I like my combo of Firebug + Web Developer for Firefox/Chrome.
HTPC Part 1 - Intel Atom
This is the first part of a multi-part guide to putting together an HTCP. My goal was to put together a cheap(~$200), small, quiet, and efficient HTPC. The CPU dictates the rest of the hardware so let's start there.
Apple Tablet? I Rather the Lenovo IdeaPad U1.
As we get closer to Apple's January announcement, I'm reading more and more articles speculating about the Apple "Tablet" or "iSlate": How big will it be? How will you type on it? How much will cost? Is it just a giant iPhone? What is it going to be used for? Do we need a tablet?
