VLC Player, One Player to Rule Them All

VLC Player is an open-source, free (can you tell that I like open-source yet?) media player, like Windows Media Player or Quicktime. It’s strength is that it can play almost everything you can throw at it, without the need for codecs.

This includes audio and video, both downloaded and streaming.

It can play Windows Media Player (.wmv, .wma) filetypes, Quicktime (.mov, .mp4), and many more (.avi, .mp3, .divx, .flv, .3gp). Basically, anything you have it can play. It also works as a DVD Player. Download it. Install it. Set it to handle all your media files and never worry about having the right program for the right filetype.

What do you use? Do you think it's better? Let me know below.
