Carte Blanche Events

This project was a lot of fun (I know that I say that for every project). We got play with a great colour palette and create something great.

On the technical side, it's a very simple site, what we like to call a Phase I project, that provides the basic information about our client: who they are, what they do, and how to contact them.

Five2Nine Productions

This project involves several phases. The first phase, a trailer and full video with a donate link, is complete.

Design wise, the focus is on the video so we centered it on the page. The asthetics is reministent of a movie trailer page, meaning high contrast and dark backgrounds.

Because promotion and marketing are key to the success of this project, we put in large Facebook and Twitter links.

The next phase of the project is to build a blog in the back

Northern Financial Group

Northern Financial Group was a fun challenge for us: we were to design a site around our client's 20 year legacy matching the look and feel of their offices. We started by redrawing their logo to update it for the web. This creates a sense of relatability and newness for their existing clients. From there, we brainstormed several layouts for the web site. The layout we came to agree on is a mix of dark wood and leather, much like an old album.

The main components of this site are:

  • Two quote forms
  • A blog for their Articles
  • A ten minute audio presentation
  • Integration of Google Maps

Julie Blais Comeau

This project was as smooth as could be from the first mockup. Julie was an absolute joy to work with and we were on the same page throughout the process. The concept for this project was to provide an image that could break the stereotypes that surround Julie's business: etiquette coaching. I did my research and found that the majority of her competitors presented the classic image of rigid, proper, and generally not enjoyable coaching.

Julie is different in that people enjoy her seminars and don't feel spoken down to. From the start, we wanted to create an image that was inviting and one that people could relate to. This meant that the image had to be contemporary and simple. For her logo, we went with a mix of a cursive font to convey a personal touch and a clean font to convey ease and simplicity. The stars were below her name were added to add a bit of flare. Finally, we chose a colour that both stands out and is relaxing.

The logo dictated the look of the site in that we kept a lot of white space and continued the colour palette of blue and grey. The rest of the site is broken down in to blocks that encourage visitors to explore the site. The key features of this project are:

  • Language toggle - we needed to create a bilingual site, which could switch the display language with one click and from any page
  • Ask Julie - Because we were tyring to create an inviting atmosphere, we added a blog that features an illustration of Julie and a form to submit etiquette questions
  • Quote form - We wanted to overcome the obstacle of visitors being hesitant to contact Julie directly, so we created a simple quote form that would allow the visitors to send Julie their basic information so that she could initiate the direct contact

Overall, we are extremely pleased by how well the project developed and was able to match our initial brainstorming and requirements.

ForSolutions.ca V.3

Forsolutions.ca

This was a great project for us because we were familiar with ForSolutions.ca. What started as a simple site has transformed into a highly-functional, easy-to-maintain, marketing tool. We had a lot to say so the front page was broken down into different blocks listing the different services. Not only is this easy to read but it is optimized for search engines.

One of our goals for this site was to encourage as many visitors as possible to try the MyThinPC demo. The MyThinPC service is not the easiest thing to explain in words, but once experienced, the advantages are obvious. We set up a demo form where visitors could request access and the administrators could gain the vistors' contact information.

The main components of this site are:

  • A demo and order form
  • A blog
  • A Flash slide show on the front page
  • A site-wide search
  • Two introductory videos
